rish temperatures could be set to heat up dramatically.

After weeks of cold weather in Ireland, it seems there is a good bit of heat on the horizon.

Just last month our country was covered in snow and now, in just a few weeks, temperatures are expected to be as hot as 27 degrees.

The 1,500 mile wide 'African air plume' will be arriving on Monday from North Africa, moving across Southern Europe until it reaches the UK and Ireland .

According to The Sun , the Met Office has forecast temperatures of up to a hot 25C from Thursday, as the mercury continues to rise across the week.

The wonderful sunshine could make this the hottest April in seven years - even beating Malibu, California.

But you're better to prepare yourself now for the good weather and appreciate the rainfall that's on the way.

Met Eireann say that the week will start off wet and windy but fortunately will become more settled.

Tonight they predict: "Rain gradually spreading further into Leinster and Connacht overnight.

"The rain will be heavy at times in the southwest, but mostly light and intermittent elsewhere.

"Winds becoming fresh southeasterly in all areas. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees."
